Windows Notepad fixed after 33 years: Now it finally handles Unix, Mac OS line endings

I’m a Queen of collecting different types of notebooks. Some of them barely used after I started my blog. You could even stick photos and postcards in your notebook! If I were to start a notebook for each of your ideas that I want to try, I’d have notebooks scattered everywhere! So I’m going to start today and use one really cool new notebook, which I already have, to incorporate many of your ideas. In the end, this notebook is currently my favourite one to use for social sciences lectures.

Notepad++ does not support mac and is free for windows. Although, you can install notepad++ on mac using WINE and it is completely free. Notepad is a basic text-editing program that enables computer users to create documents. Whereas, WordPad is a program that you can use to create documents such as letters, notes, etc. While i do use notepad++ 96.4% of the time on my pc, which is where i do most programming, I don’t think getting that on my mac is worth the 400mb download and all that.

But that’s not all, just like you can add features to Atom using packages, Brackets lets you do that with its extensions. Some of the most popular Brackets’ extensions are Beautify, Autoprefixer, Emmet, Minifier, Bracket Gits, and Brackets File Icons. If you are interested you can check their comparison chart where they show that basic free BBEdit still supports all features available in TextWrangler and a little more. With all these in mind, I believe that Visual Studio Code is the best free code editor. You can also change parts of a text to be bold, italic, and underlined. If you want to add an image to TextEdit document you can paste a screenshot from the clipboard or drag the image file from Finder window to the TextEdit.
